
Johnson and Jenkins Set to Represent Pitt at 2025 ACC Tipoff

CHARLOTTE – Ahead of the highly anticipated 2025-26 campaign, redshirt junior guards Mikayla Johnson and Amiya Jenkins will join head coach Tory Verdi in representing the Panthers at the 2025 ACC Tipoff on Tuesday, Oct. 7, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.
For the third-consecutive year, the event is set to take place at the Hilton Charlotte Uptown in Charlotte, N.C.
ACC Network will be live from ACC Tipoff for two days of expansive coverage from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The 24/7 national network dedicated to ACC sports will provide the event's most robust television coverage.
The Panthers, along with Cal, Clemson, Louisville, Miami and Notre Dame, will participate in the morning session beginning at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 7. Additional programming and coverage of Pitt's appearance at the event will be announced in the coming days.
The Attendees
Mikayla Johnson – Johnson, a native of Anchorage, Alaska, appeared in all 32 games last season, making 27 starts while averaging 28.8 minutes per contest. She finished second on the team in both scoring (10.9 points per game) and 3-point field goals (41), while adding 4.1 rebounds per game. She scored in double figures 19 times and recorded at least five rebounds in 12 contests. She notched her first career double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds in a win over Binghamton on Nov. 17, and later scored a career-high 27 points, including 5-for-10 from beyond the arc, against Virginia on Feb. 16.
Amiya Jenkins – Jenkins saw action in just three games last season before a season-ending knee injury cut short her 2024-25 campaign. The year prior at Kentucky, she appeared in 26 games with 17 starts, averaging 7.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 22.6 minutes per contest, while also adding 14 assists and 15 steals.
