Panthers Tie Bucknell 1-1 on Senior Day

PITTSBURGH - The Pitt women's soccer team (4-2-2) tied 1-1 with Bucknell (2-4-1) on Sunday afternoon at Ambrose Urbanic Field.
The Panthers began the scoring early with a brace in the seventh minute when Lola Abraham found the feet of freshman Hannah Minogue on a breakaway, who poked the ball into the back of the net. With the goal, Minogue finds her first career goal and Abraham tallies her first assist of the season.
The Bison leveled the score in the 70th minute with a long shot from Katie Connell, hitting the top left corner of the net. Bucknell's late goal is just the second time this season the Panthers have given up a second half goal.
Pitt put on the pressure in the final minutes of the game looking for the game winner but was unable to convert. Margaret Wilde led the effort with four shots on the day followed by Katie Ellermeyer with three. The Panthers outshot Bucknell 17-8 on the day.
Four Panthers logged 90 minutes on the day, including Ellie Breech who tallied one save. Bailey Wagenknecht made her season debut on her Senior Day.
UP NEXT
The Panthers will look to Thursday, Sept. 11 as they kick off ACC play hosting Cal. Play is set to begin at 7 p.m. at Ambrose Urbanic Field.
