PITTSBURGH - Pitt Lacrosse alum and Pro Panther, Paulina DiFatta, is running it back with the Maryland Charm of the Women's Lacrosse League (WLL). The league debuted last year with the 2025 Championship Series and will feature a full, inaugural season in 2026. Prior to the regular season start, the four teams will once again compete in a Championship Series taking place at The St. James in Springfield, Virginia.
The WLL is a women's professional lacrosse league in North America, composed of four teams rostered by the best players in the world. Launched in November 2024 by the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL), the WLL represents the league's biggest investment in women's lacrosse to date. In 2020, the PLL created Unleashed, a women's lacrosse content and training platform designed to support the growth and visibility of girls and women's lacrosse. Unleashed has helped over 1,000 girls lacrosse players access world class coaching from the most iconic pros of this generation.
DiFatta was selected in the 2022 Athletes Unlimited Lacrosse College Draft, one of only 15 players, and has competed in three seasons with the league. DiFatta has used her time with Athletes Unlimited and turned it into other professional lacrosse opportunities with Unleashed Women's Lacrosse and the Premier Lacrosse League. This has included traveling to Japan and even ringing the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange.
In her only season as a Panther, DiFatta led Pitt in ground balls (51), saves (198) and save percentage (.469). She ranked second in the Atlantic Coast Conference in save percentage and first in saves, saves per game, and ground balls. Her 198 saves in 2022 ranked fourth in the country. Over her career, DiFatta made 661 saves and recorded a .493 save percentage.
