THE OPENING TIP

Pitt advanced to the ACC Tournament by virtue of a 71-69 overtime win at Syracuse Saturday that secured the No. 15 seed. The Panthers will face No. 10 seed Stanford Tuesday in the opening game of the ACC Tournament at 2:00 p.m. on the ACC Network.
Kevin Brown and Jay Williams will be on the call for the ACC Network.
The game will also be broadcast on the Panthers Radio Network (flagship 93.7 The Fan) with Bill Hillgrove (play-by-play) and Curtis Aiken (analysis) providing the commentary.
Pitt has won three of its last five games, including two on the road, to secure the ACC Tournament slot. Likewise, Stanford has won four straight, beginning with a 75-67 win over Pitt just two weeks ago.
In that contest, Pitt led 63-57 with less than six minutes to play but the Cardinal closed the game on an 18-4 run for the victory.
This will be the first time the two programs have played each other in the ACC Tournament, with Stanford in just its second year in the conference.
Senior Cameron Corhen has been playing the best basketball of his career over the past month, averaging 18.2 points per game on 56 percent from the field over the last six games. He has scored 20+ three times in the last six games after reaching that total just once previously in 2025-26.
