Carrier Named to Baseball America’s Midseason Player of the Year Watch List

PITTSBURGH – Pitt outfielder Lorenzo Carrier was named to Baseball America's Midseason Player of the Year Watch List, the publication announced this afternoon.
Carrier has been one of the best hitters in the entire country so far this season. He is batting .433 with 50 RBI, 39 hits, 38 runs scored, 13 home runs, five doubles and a .967 slugging percentage. Carrier has worked a nation-leading 35 walks while posting a 1.565 OPS through Pitt's first 27 games of the season.
Nationally, Carrier ranks first in walks (35), second in RBI (50) and on-base percentage (.598), third in slugging percentage (.967) and twelfth in home runs (13).
Carrier's .433 batting average leads the entire ACC.
The redshirt senior went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Pitt's 27-3 win over Mercyhurst. Carrier contributed to the Panthers' 27-run output on Tuesday, the second-most runs scored in a game in program history.
Carrier is one of just fifteen players in the entire country to be named to the watch list.
