Pitt Softball Adds Lexi Godwin to Coaching Staff

PITTSBURGH – Head coach Jenny Allard announced the addition of Lexi Godwin to the Pitt softball coaching staff as an assistant coach.
Godwin arrives in Pittsburgh after spending the last two seasons as a graduate assistant at the University of Oklahoma. During her time in Norman, she helped the Sooners advance to the 2025 Women's College World Series and make Super Regional appearances in both 2025 and 2026.
Godwin has also enjoyed success as the head coach of the Madison Night Mares of the Northwoods League Softball (NWLS) over the past two summers. She was named the 2025 NWLS Coach of the Year after leading the Night Mares to the organization's first league championship while compiling a 37-7 record. Under her leadership, the Night Mares led the league with a .358 batting average and ranked among the league leaders in nearly every offensive category. She also coached both the NWLS Player of the Year and Pitcher of the Year.
In 2025, Godwin also served on the USA Softball Analytics and Player Development support staff, supporting national team training through performance data collection, on-field instruction and player development.
A native of Selma, North Carolina, Godwin played six seasons at the University of North Carolina. During her career with the Tar Heels, she totaled 14 doubles, eight home runs, 59 RBI, and 20 runs scored while batting .231. As a senior in 2024, Godwin batted .275 with 22 hits, 26 RBI, five home runs and a .513 slugging percentage while also setting the single-game Carolina program record with 10 RBI.
