AS A JUNIOR (2019-20): Announced her diagnosis of a Neuroendocrine Tumor of the Appendix (Appendix Cancer) on September 25, 2019... Had surgery to remove cancerous cells and made a return to the Pitt lineup on December 17, 2019 against Miami (OH)... Appeared in four games before sitting out the rest of the regular season... Posted a season-high 12 minutes, three points and two assists in her return to the lineup against Miami (OH) (12/17), a game that ESPN personality Holly Rowe surprised Nelson in the locker room pregame... Played six minutes against Cincinnati and Notre Dame and just three minutes at North Carolina.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2018-2019): Saw action in 30 games while starting in eight…averaged a career-high 6.0 points and 2.2 rebounds while shooting 38.9% from the floor... Netted a season-high 12 points and a career-high four three-pointers against New Orleans (11/9/18)… Scored in double figures a career-high six times… Made at least one three-pointer in 23 of the Panthers 31 games… Surpassed the 300 career points milestone against Wake Forest (2/28/19) and 100 career rebounds against #25 Miami (2/10/19)… Led the Panthers in three-point percentage and ranked fourth in the ACC shooting 40.4% from behind the arc while connecting on a career-best 42 triples.
