PITTSBURGH - Freshman guard Brooke Stewart's 25 second-half points propelled the Pittsburgh women's basketball team past host Hampton, 86-65, Dec. 11 at the Hampton Convocation Center.
After holding a four-point (34-30) lead at intermission, the Panthers went on a 20-9 run sparked by Stewart's (North Versailles, Pa./East Allegheny) three 3-pointers through the first eight minutes of the second half, to increase their lead to 56-39. Pittsburgh widened its lead to 20 twice, but Hampton brought the score within 73-62 at 3:34 on an 11-2 run. The Panthers, however, sank 13 points down the stretch, compared to just three of Hampton's, to provide the final margin.

The Panthers shot 49.2 percent from the field (29-of-59), including 50 percent (8-of-16) from behind the arc.
The Panthers placed four players in double-figures. Stewart had a game-high 25 points on 8-of-10 shooting, including six from three-point range.
