Women's Soccer Signs Pittsburgh Native Liz Potts

PITTSBURGH - PITTSBURGH - University of Pittsburgh head women's soccer coach Roland Sturk has announced the signing of Liz Potts to a national letter of intent to play for the 2001 season.
Potts (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) was a four-time all-section player at Thomas Jefferson and was a member of the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League Coaches All-Star Team in 2000. She guided Thomas Jefferson High School to three straight section championships from 1998-2000.
Potts, a YMCA Tribune-Review Scholar Athlete and National Honor Society member, captained the Century V Cup Team to six consecutive Pennsylvania West State Championships from 1995 to 2000.
Potts joins six others who have signed letters-of-intent to play for the Panthers next season. The recruits include Kendall Enmark (Sterling Heights, Mich./Henry Ford II), Cara Senger (Pittsburgh, Pa./Oakland Catholic), Laura Boehm (South Park, Pa./South Park), Krystian James (Las Vegas, Nev./Cimmaron Memorial), Lane Graor (Broadview Heights, Ohio/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) and Geraldine Loveless (Manassas, Va./Thomas Jefferson).
The Pittsburgh women's soccer team kicks off the 2001 season on Friday, Aug. 31, when the Panthers play host to Central Michigan (4 p.m.).
