Women's Soccer Drops 4-0 Decision to Georgetown

Pittsburgh- The women?s soccer team dropped its last game of the season to Georgetown by a score of 4-0.
Georgetown started of the scoring in the fifth minute of play. Nicole DePalma finished a cross from Sara Jordan to put the Hoyas up 1-0.
In the 19th minute of play Georgetown was able to capitalize on a scoring opportunity to put them up 2-0. Less then 10 minutes later Georgetown found the back of the net again, making the score 3-0 at half.
Pittsburgh?s defense stayed strong throughout the first half limiting the Hoyas to just five shots. Keeper Jamie Pelusi made three saves for the half. The foul count was close with Pittsburgh tallying six and seven for Georgetown.
In the second half of play Pittsburgh created quality scoring opportunities. Midfielder Erin McFarling is able to beat her defender, knocks the ball forward and runs onto the ball inside the penalty box. McFarling?s opportunity was broken up when the Georgetown keeper came out and broke the play up.
Later in the half Pittsburgh forward Cara Senger created another scoring chance. Senger read a play made by to Georgetown players and picked off their pass, carrying it forward. Senger beat her next defender and fed the ball to the middle of the field towards Janean Gardner. The ball was just out of Gardner?s reach when the Hoyas keeper made the save.
Pittsburgh?s defense was strong in the second half limiting Georgetown to five shots. Pittsburgh changed goal keepers at half putting Lailah Issac in net for the Panthers. Issac made one save in the second half.
Pittsburgh finished their season with a record of 6-10-1 overall and 2-7-1 in the Big East.
