Vierling registered her team's first goal in the 12th minute after freshman midfielder Kathleen Howe collected a loose ball and fed it out to the left side where Vierling ran onto it. After facing up her defender and faking a shot with her left foot at the edge of the Panthers' penalty box, Vierling pulled it back across her body and ripped a left footed shot into the upper left hand corner of the goal past Pittsburgh goalkeeper Jamie Pelusi to give Georgia a 1-0 edge.
The Bulldogs went up 2-0 on Sekerak's third goal of the season. After a Pitt defender deflected a pass from Georgia's Kristin Garman that went over Pelusi's hands and toward the goal, Sekerak won the race to the ball and knocked it in to give the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead in the game's 46th minute.
Pitt managed just three shots on goal.
