Softball Set to Host Two Clinics in November

PITTSBURGH--Head Softball Coach Holly Aprile announced the dates for two one-day clinics in November. Pitt softball team will provide advanced instruction on specific techniques for pitching and hitting during the clinics.
Pitt's fall pitching clinic will be held on Sunday, Nov. 8, from 9 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at the Charles L. Cost Center on upper campus. Check in starts at 8:30am and the participants need to provide their own catchers. Girls ages 12-18 are eligible and the cost is set at $60.
Players will learn different grips used to perfect pitches including: fastball, drop, rise, curve and change-up. Players will also gain hands-on instruction about the purpose and strategy of each pitch from current softball coaches and pitchers.
The following weekend, the Panthers will host their fall hitting clinic on Sunday, Nov. 15, from 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m. This clinic is designed for the athlete who wants to become an elite hitter, as it will focus on the proper fundamentals and techniques that maximize power and range. Players will also be instructed by the Pitt staff in bunting. Girls ages 12-18 are eligible to participate and the cost is set at $60.
