Pitt Shut Out by Georgetown, 6-0

PITTSBURGH – Five different players scored for Georgetown as the Hoyas shut out visiting Pitt in a Big East women’s soccer match Sunday.
Camille Trujillo scored two goals for Georgetown (10-4-0, 4-2-0), while Daphne Corboz, Ingrid Wells, Samantha Baker and Kaitlin Brenn notched one goal apiece.
The Panthers fall to 1-9-4 overall and 0-4-2 in the conference. All four ties have come at Ambrose Urbanic Field, while the lone win was at a neutral site.
The Hoyas did not waste any time in taking an early lead. Wells scored the first goal just 24 seconds into the match. Trujillo, who assisted on Wells’s goal, scored less than two minutes later to give her a team a two-goal lead.
Corboz scored in the 55th minute, helping Georgetown take a 3-0 lead into the half. Brenn, Trujillo and Baker added goals in the second half to complete the scoring.
The Hoyas’ Elizabeth Hanna made one save to record the shutout. Nicole D’Agostino made six saves for the Panthers.
Pitt took eight shots in the contest. Freshman Ali Matisse led the team with three shots.
The Panthers will host a pair of conference matches this weekend. They will play Syracuse on Friday at 7 p.m. and will entertain St. John’s on Sunday at 1 p.m.
