GAME PREVIEW
PITTSBURGH--The University of Pittsburgh women's basketball team is home for the the second time in as many games when it hosts Valparaiso on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 2 p.m. at the Petersen Events Center.
The contest can be heard on WJAS AM 1320 and also is available via Pitt Panthers All-Access package (both video and radio broadcast). Scott Stiller and Jennifer Tuscano have the call courtside.
The Panthers have dropped three-straight and look to end their slide in their third-career meeting with the Crusaders. The teams met last season in Valparaiso, Ind. with Pitt posting an 86-51 win on Dec. 11. The game marked the last game before the exam period - as it does again, this season.
Freshman Brianna Kiesel continues to pace the team in a trio of categories, leading in scoring (13.3 ppg), assists (3.4 per game) and minutes (35.2 per game). Sophomore Kyra Dunn and Redshirt sophomore Leeza Burdgess are collecting 7.1 and 7.6 rebounds a game, respectively. Dunn, who has started all nine games along with Kiesel and redshirt sophomore Abby Dowd, is the Big East leader in blocked shots (2.6 per contest).
