PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh held its annual Blue-Gold Meet this past weekend and had encouraging performances as the Panthers prepare for the indoor season.
“I think our performances were really good this weekend,” head coach Alonzo Webb said. “We look to see how the kids compete and we want to see effort. I thought we had some great efforts this weekend. I think the kids get into the Blue-Gold Meet because it is an opportunity to challenge themselves before their first collegiate meet.”
The Panthers open the season this coming weekend at the Kent State Golden Flash Gala. Competition starts on Friday afternoon and concludes Saturday evening.
Other meets on the indoor docket include three trips to Penn State, the Kentucky Invitational, the Virginia Tech Elite Meet, and the SPIRE Invitational. Boston College will host the ACC Indoor Championship Meet in late February.
