
Springman Receives USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

NEW ORLEANS – Recent graduate Haley Springman represents Pitt on the 2015 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Track and Field Team.
A thrower from Leesburg, Va., Springman earned this recognition following a standout four year career which ended with a trip to the NCAA East Preliminary Meet.
During her senior outdoor season, Springman competed at the ACC Championships in two events, finishing ninth in the hammer and 12th in the discus. She also placed sixth at the ACC Indoor Championship Meet in the weight throw. Springman graduated as the school record holder in discus.
In addition to her exemplary athletic performance, Springman has shown continuous success in the classroom. She was named to the Indoor All-ACC Academic Team in 2014-15 and was honored as one of nine Seniors of Distinction at the Pitt Senior Awards Banquet.
Springman was one of 48 ACC athletes and 838 athletes nationwide to receive USTFCCCA honors in 2015. To qualify for the team, student-athletes must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and either finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event in the indoor season or participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships for the outdoor season.
