LAST TIME OUT
For the second consecutive game, freshman guard Alayna Gribble led Pitt in scoring with 14 points, but the Panthers fell to Charlotte (5-3, 0-0 Conference USA), 70-63, Sunday afternoon at Petersen Events Center. Gribble tied her career high of four made 3-pointers, matching her performance in the Panthers' last game against Purdue in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge (Nov. 30). The Pittsburgh native also contributed two assists and a blocked shot. Sophomore forward Brenna Wise was the only other Pitt player in double-figure scoring with 12 points, however, every Panther who saw playing time reached the scoring column. Freshman Jasmine Whitney was one away from her career high with 10 assists. She had just one turnover, and posted seven rebounds and four points. Sophomore Cassidy Walsh made her first appearance of 2016-17 following an ankle injury and scored four points.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Bryant (4-3, 0-0 NEC) went 1-1 at the Ocean State Tip-Off Tournament this weekend, falling to Providence (62-51) and defeating Rhode Island (62-56). The win over the Rams snapped a three-game skid for the Bulldogs. Alex Klein leads the team with 17.0 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. Ivory Bailey is the Bulldogs' only other double-figure scorer, posting 13.4 points per game.
Tuesday marks the first meeting between Bryant and Pitt.
