The Pitt Softball Program
The Pitt Softball Program
Entering its fourth year in the highly respected Atlantic Coast Conference, head coach Holly Aprile and the Panthers will look to continue and improve upon its recent success.
Over the past two years, Pitt has seen some of its finest talent play on the Vartabedian Field and help grow a program that will look to become a national contender in the near future.
The University of Pittsburgh
Founded in 1787, the University of Pittsburgh is one of the oldest institutions of higher education in the United States.
Providing students with countless career options, the University thrives upon its success in multiple areas such as its engineering and medical fields.
Nestled in Pittsburgh's Oakland neighborhood, Pitt's campus is a mix of city vibes and relaxing greenery.
From its prestigious architecture, such as the Cathedral of Learning, to the open fields of Schenley Park, the University of Pittsburgh provides that perfect hybrid mix.
The City of Pittsburgh
Highlighted by an unrivaled skyline, the city of Pittsburgh becomes home to nearly 30,000 students every school year.
From the North Shore to Lawrenceville, the city is full of great entertainment, shops, restaurants, theaters, galleries, museums, and much more.
Vartabedian Field at the Petersen Sports Complex
One of three athletic fields at the Petersen Sports Complex, Vartabedian Field plays host to the Pitt softball team.
The field, which opened in 2011, has a skinned infield with an artificial grass outfield, along with lighting. The stadium includes team dugouts, hitting and pitching practice areas and a press box.
The Petersen Sports Complex is built on 12 acres at the peak of Pitt's upper campus, and provides state-of-the-art homes for the Panthers' baseball, softball and men's and women's soccer teams.
