
Pitt Set For Road Game At Boston College Sunday Afternoon

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt women's basketball team (7-13. 0-9 ACC) hits the road for a Sunday matinee against the Boston College Eagles. Tip is set for 2:00 pm and the game will air live on ACC Network Extra.

- Junior Liatu King has been the Panthers' best player all season long as she leads the squad averaging 10.8 points and 8.3 rebounds while shooting 41.6% from the floor. King ranks 5th in the ACC in rebounds (8.3 rpg) and sixth in blocks (1.5 bpg).
- Senior Amber Brown is on a roll for Pitt as she has scored in double figures in eight of her past nine games including netting 11 vs. UNC last tiem out. Over that stretch, Brown is averaging a team-high 14.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.3 steals while shooting 51.9% from the floor.
- The Panthers hit the road Sunday for another ACC matchup as they take on Boston College at 2pm on ACC Network Extra.
- The undersized forward duo of Liatu King and Amber Brown are combining to average 21.4 points and 13.5 rebounds while shooting 45.9% from the floor on the year.
- Senior captain Dayshanette Harris led the Panthers in scoring for the second straight game as she netted 16 points in the loss to UNC. She is now eight points shy of becoming the 20th member of Pitt's 1,000-point club. She is also the first Panther since Brianna Kiesel (2011-15) to record 900+ points and 250+ assists in a career.
- This meeting marks the 53rd between the two programs with BC leading the series 33-19.
- The Eagles have won three straight in the series with Pitt's last win coming on Feb. 16, 2021.
- The Eagles are 18-7 all-time at home against the Panthers.
- The Boston College Eagles enter Sunday's game with a 13-10 overall record and a 3-7 ACC mark as they have lost five straight conference games including falling 86-65 at Miami Thursday.
- The Eagles are being led offensively by Dontavia Waggoner who is averaging 13.1 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals while JoJo Lacey is averaging 11.4 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists and a team-high 41 triples.
- Freshman point guard Taina Mair has been great for the Eagles as she is averaging 11.0 points, 7.0 assists and 4.9 rebounds while connecting on 34 triples. Her 160 assists are the 2nd most in the NCAA while her 7.0 assists per game ranks 8th in the NCAA and leads all first year players.
- As a team, Boston College is averaging 68.2 points per game while allowing 65.6 points per contest.
- Senior guard Dayshanette Harris has been a great player over her career for Pitt. With the additions to the squad, Harris will move to the two guard spot.
- On the year, Harris is averaging 21.1 minutes, 8.4 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists while shooting a career-high 39.7% from the floor.
- Last time out, Harris had her best game in over a month as she had a team-high 16 points, two rebounds, an assist and steal in 26 minutes off the bench. She finished the game going 7-for-12 from the floor as she led Pitt in scoring for the second straight game.
- Harris now sits just eight points shy of 1,000 points for her career. She will become the 20th member of the Panthers' 1000 point club and its first member since Yacine Diop in 2018.
- Earlier this season in the win over Bryant as she netted a season-high 17 points, three rebounds and three steals in 23 minutes of work. She finished her afternoon going 6-for-10 from the floor and 4-for-7 from deep, a new career-high for three-pointers made in a game.
- For her career, she has a team-high 49 double digit scoring games including nine this season.
- She has nine career games with 20+ points including two against Virginia Tech.
- Harris is the fastest Pitt player to 800 career points (69 games) since assistant coach Brianna Kiesel netted her 800th career point in her 57th career game.
- She also became the fastest Pitt player in program history to record at least 800 points, 250 rebounds and 175 assists (69 games).
- She is the first Panther since Brianna Kiesel (2011-15) to net 900+ points and 250+ assists in a career.
- Pitt will stay on the road for a Thursday night matchup against #16 Duke. Thursday's game will tip at 6:00 pm and air live on ACC Network.
