
Pitt Set For Big Road Test At #10 Notre Dame Thursday Night On ACC Network

PITTSBURGH – Looking for their second straight ACC win, the Pitt women's basketball team (8-15, 1-11 ACC) hits the road Thursday night for a big test as they head to South Bend, IN to battle #10 Notre Dame. Thursday's game at Purcell Pavilion will tip at 6:00 pm and air live on the ACC Network with Debbie Antonelli (play-by-play) and Jenn Hildreth (analyst) on the call.

- Senior captain Dayshanette Harris is finding her groove over the past four games for the Panthers as she is averaging 11.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.8 steals while shooting 50% from the floor. Last week, she became the 20th member of the Panthers' 1,000-point club and first since Yacine Diop in 2018.
- Junior Liatu King is enjoying the best season of her career as she is averaging a career-high 10.0 points and 7.7 rebounds while shooting 40.9% from the floor. King ranks 4th in the ACC in blocks (1.6 bpg) and 5th in rebounds (7.7 rpg).
- The Panthers hit the road Thursday for an ACC showdown with #10 Notre Dame at 6pm on the ACC Network.
- Senior Amber Brown is on a roll for Pitt as she has scored in double figures in nine of her past 12 games. Over that stretch, Brown is averaging a team-high 12.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.4 steals while shooting 49.5% from the floor. Brown is closing in on 1,000 career points as she currently has 931 points.
- Sophomore Maliyah Johnson is one of the most improved players in the ACC as she went from 1.9 ppg a season ago to 8.3 ppg this season. She has a career-high 10 double figure scoring games after posting none as a freshman.
- This meeting marks the 37th between the two programs with Notre Dame owning the 32-4 lead in the series.
- The Fighting Irish have won three straight in the series with Pitt's last win coming in the ACC Tournament first round in 2020.
- Notre Dame is 15-0 all-time against Pitt in South Bend.
- The Notre Dame Fighting Irish enter Thursday's game with a 18-4 overall record and a 9-3 ACC mark after falling to #16 Duke Sunday, 57-52. The Irish are ranked #10 in the latest AP Top-25 poll released Monday.
- Notre Dame is led in nearly every statistical category by dynamic sophomore guard Olivia Miles who is averaging 15.1 points, 7.1 rebounds, 6.9 assists and 2.1 steals while shooting 50.6% from the floor. She ranks 2nd in the ACC and 9th in the NCAA in assists.
- Fellow sophomore Sonia Citron is enjoying a career season as she is averaging 14.2 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.5 steals while shooting 51.1% frm the floor and 45.6% from behind the arc.
- As a team, Notre Dame is averaging 77.0 points per game while allowing just 58.0 points against per game.
- Senior captain Amber Brown has been the Panthers' best rebounder since stepping foot on campus in 2019.
- She currently ranks second on the team in rebounds per game this season (5.0 rpg), marking the third straight season ranking second on the squad. She led Pitt in rebounding as a freshman, averaging a career-high 7.7 rebounds per game.
- For her career, Brown has grabbed 647 rebounds including 214 on the offensive end of the court. She currently ranks 11th in program history but sits just 17 shy of 10th place on the all-time charts.

- Senior guard Dayshanette Harris has been a great player over her career for Pitt. With the additions to the squad, Harris has moved to the two guard spot this season.
- On the year, Harris is averaging 21.4 minutes, 8.6 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists while shooting a career-high 40.7% from the floor.
- Last time out, Harris led the Panthers in scoring for the sixth time this season as she came off the bench and netted 14 points, 12 in the third quarter, to go along with five rebounds, two assists and two steals in 27 minutes of work in the win over Virginia. She finished the game going 5-for-9 from the floor and 3-for-5 from the charity stripe in the win.
- Harris has now scored in double figures 12 times on the year inlcuding in three of her past four games. She has racked up a team-high 52 games with 10+ points over her career.
- Last week at Boston College, Harris became the 20th member of the Panthers' 1,000 point club as she nailed a pulled up jumper from the free throw line. She is the first member of the club for Pitt since Yacine Diop in 2018.
- Earlier this season in the win over Bryant as she netted a season-high 17 points, three rebounds and three steals in 23 minutes of work. She finished her afternoon going 6-for-10 from the floor and 4-for-7 from deep, a new career-high for three-pointers made in a game.
- She has nine career games with 20+ points including two against Virginia Tech.
- She is the first Panther since Brianna Kiesel (2011-15) to net 1000+ points, 300+ rebounds and 250+ assists in a career.
- Harris is the fastest Pitt player to 800 career points (69 games) since assistant coach Brianna Kiesel netted her 800th career point in her 57th career game.
- Pitt stays on the road for a Super Bowl Sunday matchup against Georgia Tech. Sunday's game will tip at 2pm and air on ACC network Extra.
