No. 15 Pitt Faces No. 6 NC State in ACC Road Test

PITTSBURGH—The 15th-ranked Pitt wrestling team (8-2, 1-0 ACC) will travel to Raleigh for an ACC road battle against sixth-ranked NC State (8-1, 2-0 ACC) at Reynolds Coliseum Friday night. The match is slated to start at 7 p.m. and will air live on ACC Network Extra.
Pitt has won five consecutive matches en route to an 8-2 record in dual meets this season with seven of its 10 matches coming against nationally ranked opponents. The Panthers are 3-0 in true road matches this season and hold a 4-2 record against teams ranked in the top 25.
NOTABLES
- Pitt has seven individual wrestlers ranked in the top 25 of the InterMat rankings in their respective weight classes, including four in the top 20.
- Friday's dual could feature seven ranked matches at 125, 149, 157, 174, 184, 197, and 285.
- No. 11 Mac Stout has won 12 consecutive matches to climb to No. 11 in the InterMat rankings. Stout leads the Panthers with 15 wins on the season, including seven wins by major decision or tech fall.
- No. 15 Reece Heller and No. 11 Dylan Fishback will have a rematch at 184 after facing off against each other at the Journeymen Classic in November. Heller defeated Fishback by a 2-1 decision en route to his 184 title at the tournament.
