Pitt to Play 19th Annual Pink the Pete Game Sunday Against Cal

PITTSBURGH – Pitt will turn the Petersen Events Center pink in support of Magee-Women's Research Institute and Foundation for the 19th annual Pink the Pete game. Cal will make the trip to Pittsburgh for the first time, with tipoff scheduled for 1 p.m. on ACCNX.

THE OPENING TIP
- The Panthers battled early, but couldn't keep pace down the stretch, falling to Stanford 86-65, Thursday evening at the Petersen Events Center.
- Pitt placed three players in double figures, led by Theresa Hagans Jr., who finished with 21 points and four assists on the night.
- Mikayla Johnson tallied her 16th double figure scoring performance of the season with 16 points, adding six rebounds.
- Fatima Diakhate chipped in 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting to go along with six boards and two steals.
SERIES HISTORY
- Cal leads the all-time series, 2-0.
- Both games have been played in California. The first meeting came at the Oakland Tribune Classic in 1998, with the Golden Bears earning a 40-35 victory.
- In their first year in the ACC, Cal topped Pitt, 84-53.
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN BEARS
- The Golden Bears have two players averaging double figures: Lulu Twidale (14.5 ppg) and Sakima Walker (11.7 ppg). Twidale has connected on 59 three-pointers this season, averaging 2.6 made threes per game – third most in the ACC. Her 30.7% three-point shooting percentage ranks third in the conference.
- Twidale also leads the team in assists (3.7 apg), while Walker leads the team in blocks (1.7 bpg) and ranks third in the ACC in blocked shots.
