Pitt to Play 19th Annual Pink the Pete Game Sunday Against Cal

PITTSBURGH – Pitt will turn the Petersen Events Center pink in support of Magee-Women's Research Institute and Foundation for the 19^th annual Pink the Pete game. Cal will make the trip to Pittsburgh for the first time, with tipoff scheduled for 1 p.m. on ACCNX.

THE OPENING TIP

The Panthers battled early, but couldn't keep pace down the stretch, falling to Stanford 86-65, Thursday evening at the Petersen Events Center.
Pitt placed three players in double figures, led by Theresa Hagans Jr., who finished with 21 points and four assists on the night.
Mikayla Johnson tallied her 16^th double figure scoring performance of the season with 16 points, adding six rebounds.
Fatima Diakhate chipped in 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting to go along with six boards and two steals.

SERIES HISTORY

Cal leads the all-time series, 2-0.
Both games have been played in California. The first meeting came at the Oakland Tribune Classic in 1998, with the Golden Bears earning a 40-35 victory.
In their first year in the ACC, Cal topped Pitt, 84-53.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN BEARS

The Golden Bears have two players averaging double figures: Lulu Twidale (14.5 ppg) and Sakima Walker (11.7 ppg). Twidale has connected on 59 three-pointers this season, averaging 2.6 made threes per game – third most in the ACC. Her 30.7% three-point shooting percentage ranks third in the conference.
Twidale also leads the team in assists (3.7 apg), while Walker leads the team in blocks (1.7 bpg) and ranks third in the ACC in blocked shots.
Gisella Maul leads the team on the glass, pulling down 6.7 rebounds per game.
