Colin Hawkins To Join Pitt Men's Basketball Program

PITTSBURGH – Colin Hawkins, a 6-foot-3 junior guard from Colorado Springs, Colo., has signed with the Pitt men's basketball program for the 2026-27 season. Hawkins played two seasons at Gardner-Webb prior to his transfer and arrives at Pitt with two years of eligibility remaining.

Hawkins started all 31 games he played in a year ago and was fourth on the team in scoring at 8.2 points per game over 27.4 minutes. He scored in double-figures 13 times and led the team with 64 assists. Hawkins shot 44 percent from the field and added 1.8 rebounds and 32 steals. Those numbers were large improvements over his freshman campaign, when he averaged 2.4 points in just 11.3 minutes per contest.
Hawkins scored a career-high 15 points, making 5-of-8 field goals, against Big South Champion and NCAA Tournament qualifier High Point, adding four assists and three rebounds. He also had six points, four assists and a career-best four steals against Tennessee.
No stranger to the Petersen Events Center, Hawkins logged 17 minutes in his third career college game against Pitt on Nov. 11, 2024.
A graduate of Colorado Prep, Hawkins played a post-graduate season at Sunrise Christian Academy in Bel Aire, Kan., a program that was the 2021-22 EYBL Scholastic Champions and has developed more than 125 Division I student-athletes in 13 years.
