Panthers Stack PRs and All-Time Marks at Princeton

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Pitt distance squad made a significant climb up the program record books at the Larry Ellis Invitational this weekend, as five Panthers recorded all-time top-10 marks at Weaver Stadium ahead of the ACC Outdoor Championships.
Graham Heinrich led the men's effort with a personal-best 8:52.61 in the 3,000 steeplechase, finishing sixth and moving to No. 6 on Pitt's all-time list. Quintin Gatons followed with a PR of 8:57.70 to place ninth and tie for seventh in program history.
In the 1,500, Nick Steinfeldt clocked a personal-best 3:51.38 to finish runner-up, while Luke Simpson competed in the Mike Brady Elite section and ran 3:42.51 for 11th place. Ethan Feinstein and Damian Frausto took on the 10,000, placing fourth (30:35.56) and fifth (30:47.58), respectively.
The women's 5,000 accounted for four of the weekend's top program marks. In the open section, Camy Kiser finished second with a personal-best 16:46.26. Sarah Hurst (16:57.85) and Sydney Nowicki (season-best 16:59.07) followed in sixth and seventh. Alex Fleck (17:10.06) and Sienna Miller (17:17.36) placed 12th and 15th in the section.
In the seeded 5,000, Ella Cook delivered a personal-best 16:34.22 — the seventh-fastest time in Pitt history — to finish 14th. Ellen Baker followed closely with a PR of 16:39.10, moving into 10th on the all-time list.
Elena Barrall added another record-book performance in the women's 3,000 steeplechase, finishing eighth in a personal-best 10:33.11, good for No. 5 in program history. Gianna Cagliola rounded out the weekend in the women's 1,500, placing 18th in 4:38.35.

Pitt will look at opportunities to compete in last chance meets before the ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which begin May 14.
