Sharpshooting Forward Kraig Gilbert To Transfer To Pitt

PITTSBURGH – Kraig Gilbert, a 6-foot-8 junior forward from Grove City, Ohio, will transfer from Concord University (W.Va.) to the Pitt men's basketball program for the 2026-27 season. Gilbert brings size, perimeter shooting and shot-blocking to the Panthers' frontcourt. He will have two years of eligibility remaining.

2026-27 Men's Basketball Roster
In 2025-26, Gilbert appeared in 14 games for Concord after his season was cut short by an ankle injury, averaging 16.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game while shooting 55.2 percent from the field and 48.0 percent (36-of-75) from three-point range on more than five attempts per contest. He was named Mountain East Conference Player of the Week in November after averaging 21.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in two Concord wins. The honor included a then-career-high 24 points on 9-of-13 shooting against California (Pa.), capped by a game-winning three-pointer at the buzzer in an 81-79 victory. Gilbert later set a new career high with 27 points against Point Park.
As a freshman in 2024-25, Gilbert appeared in all 28 games with 25 starts for Concord, averaging 9.1 points and 6.0 rebounds per game and emerging as one of the top freshmen in the Mountain East Conference.
A native of Grove City, Ohio, Gilbert attended Grove City High School, where he averaged 16.0 points per game as a senior. He earned Honorable Mention All-Central District honors as a junior after averaging 10.5 points and 5.7 rebounds per game while shooting 57.5 percent from the field. Gilbert was rated the No. 3 center in the state of Ohio and a top-35 overall prospect in the 2024 class.
