Panthers Claim Four Event Titles, Sweep Men's 400 at WVU Last Chance

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The Pitt track and field program wrapped its regular season Saturday at the WVU Last Chance meet, claiming four event titles and sweeping the top three spots in the men's 400 meters.
Malachi Williams led the way in the quarter-mile, winning in a personal-best 46.88 — a time that moves him to No. 9 on Pitt's all-time outdoor list. Colin Kravitz followed in a personal-best 47.16, and Cole Strother completed the Panther sweep in 47.49.
On the women's side, Taylor Forbes captured the long jump title with an outdoor personal-best leap of 18-5 (5.61m). Teammate Elena Corella Crespo joined her on the podium with a third-place finish at a personal-best 18-3.75 (5.58m).
The Panthers added two more wins on the women's track. Alma Evuna Eki took the 200 meters in 24.72, while Gabrielle Layne won the 400 in 57.34. Elizabeth Hunkele rounded out the day with a fourth-place finish in the 800, clocking 2:15.83.
Pitt will compete at the ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships next in Louisville, Ky. May 14-16.
