Pitt Lacrosse Adds Five to Academic All-District Team

PITTSBURGH - Five members of the Pitt Lacrosse team were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District At-Large Team Tuesday afternoon. Alexa Carannante, Aidan Carr, Lilly Comello, Gracie Kahoun and Megan Sheridan earned the honor for the Panthers.
Carannante, a senior defender from Mount Sinai, N.Y., appeared in 15 games this season and contributed 10 ground balls and eight caused turnovers on the back end.
The draw control specialist of the group, junior defender Carr led the team with 127 draw controls across all 16 games from her Berthoud, Colo. roots.
Comello wrapped up her senior season appearing in all 16 games, finishing with 29 ground balls and 19 caused turnovers for the Silver Spring, Md. native.
Kahoun helped anchor the backline for the 2026 campaign, starting all 16 games out of Roanoke, Va. and recording six ground balls and 12 caused turnovers.
Sheridan has already left her mark in the Panther record books and continued that trend in 2026, appearing in all 16 games and posting 11 ground balls and 26 caused turnovers. She holds the all-time program record with 73 caused turnovers.
Kahoun and Sheridan have now earned the distinction in back to back school years.
The 2026 Academic All-District® At-Large teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
To qualify for the CSC Academic All-District Team, student-athletes must:
- Have a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA
- Nominees must compete in at least 90 percent of the team's games or have started at least 66% of the total number of team's games played
