PITTSBURGH – Pitt head men's soccer coach Jay Vidovich has announced the addition of Robby Dambrot to the coaching staff as an assistant coach.
Dambrot joins Pitt after serving as an assistant coach at Dartmouth and concluding a seven-year professional playing career in the USL Championship.
"We are thrilled to welcome Robby back to Pitt," said Vidovich. "He upholds what it means to wear this jersey and will be a tremendous addition to our staff. His experience as a professional player and his understanding of what we build here makes him someone our players will connect with and learn from."
During his professional career, Dambrot played for Loudoun United FC, the Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC and the Indy Eleven. He helped the Riverhounds to a 4-0-1 record in 2022 and made a playoff appearance with Indy in 2023 before returning to Loudoun United, where he helped the club to its first playoff appearance in team history in 2025.
Prior to his professional career, Dambrot played collegiately at Akron, earning three straight MAC regular season and tournament championships, including a trip to the NCAA Tournament semifinals in 2015. He was a three-time Academic All-MAC honoree and two-time MAC Distinguished Scholar.
Dambrot transferred to Pitt for the 2017 and 2018 seasons, appearing in 21 matches. The Panthers won their first ACC Tournament match in program history during his time on the roster in 2018. He later served as a volunteer assistant coach with the program, contributing to training, film, scouting and recruiting.
