Dentarius Locke joined the Pitt track and field coaching staff as an assistant coach in December of 2023. Locke was previously an assistant coach at Georgia State University. He will work closely with the sprints group at Pitt.
Locke had an illustrious collegiate career at Tennessee and Florida State. During his freshman campaign in Knoxville, he became an All-American in the indoor 60m and outdoor 200m and received SEC Freshman of the Year honors. The following season, the Tampa native returned to his home state, setting school records in the 100m, 200m and earning All-American status as a member of Florida State's 4x400m relay team. In 2013, Locke broke the 10-second barrier in the 100m at 9.96 seconds. After graduation, Locke became a Nike athlete.
