EUGENE, Ore. – Darren McQueen Jr., Nigel Hussey, Malik Ricketts and Stephon Brown earned Honorable Mention All-American honors as the men's 4x100 relay placed 17th at NCAA Championships. It was the first time that a Pitt men's 4x100 relay team competed in the event at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship meet. The quartet clocked 39.32 in the semifinal at Hayward Field. With Hussey, Ricketts and Brown graduating, the foursome will exit as the school record holders in the event, with their top time of 39.12 achieved at the NCAA East Regional meet.
Individually, Malik Ricketts notched Honorable Mention All-American accolades as he competed in the men's 400-meter race, finishing 20th with a time of 46.36. This was Ricketts' third time collecting All-American status as he was a member of the 2024 4x400 relay team that competed at NCAA Championships a year prior in addition to the 4x100 relay team that competed earlier in the day.
Eva Baldursdottir concluded the 2025 season on Saturday evening as she earned 12th place in the women's high jump competition. Baldursdottir leaped a new personal best 1.84-meters to secure Second Team All-American status. It was the first time the junior from Selfoss, Iceland competed at Nationals and the second time a Pitt Panther has competed in the event. Pitt Hall of Famer and Olympian, Najuma Fletcher earned First Team All-American honors in 1994 and 1995, respectively. Fletcher (1.89m) and Baldursdottir (1.84m) hold the top two marks in Pitt history.
