ACC Qualifiers Head to Boston for Conference Championship Meet

PITTSBURGH – Select student-athletes who achieved a qualifying mark or time in their respective event(s) during the regular season will travel to Boston, Mass. to compete against conference competitors in the ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships. The meet will begin Thursday, Feb. 26 and go through Saturday, Feb. 28.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT – FEB. 13-14
- Luke Simpson set the school record in the mile, becoming the first Pitt athlete to complete the event in under four minutes with his 3:57.40 pace.
- Thomas McMahon and Quintin Gatons produced the #2 and #4 5K times in program history. McMahon's time was 13:54.82, followed by Gatons' pace of 13:59.94.
- Somiyah Braggs had a stellar weekend at the Tiger Paw Invitational, posting personal bests in both the 60-meter dash and the 200-meter race. Braggs breezed down the track in 7.31 in the 60-meter final to move closer to the 7.30 school record time. The following day, the Miami native recorded a time of 23.42 in the 200-meter event, moving into second in program history in her second event of the weekend.
- Colin Kravitz produced the eighth fastest 400-meter time in Pitt men's program history, stopping the clock in 47.17.
- The women's 4x400 relay team of Alexandria Scott, Jana Bruses, Alma Evuna Eki and Faith Dennis collectively put forth a time of 3:39.12, good for eighth on the program's top 10 list.
- Josiah Montgomery improved his mark in the shot put, throwing 17.70-meters for fourth all-time at Pitt.
- Madisyn Hawkins tossed a 18.20-meter mark in the women's weight throw, finishing fourth at the meet and eighth on the program's top 10 list.

- The Panthers earned nine medals at the 2025 ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships.

- Senior Je'Nyia Burton set a school record and a facility record en route to an ACC Championship in the women's 400-meter race. She was the only athlete in the field to run under 52 seconds, clocking in at 51.82.
- The women's team set new program bests by finishing in eighth place with 46 points.
- The men's team finished 13th with 21 points.
UP NEXT
- NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship qualifiers will compete the weekend of March 13-14. Outdoor action begins the following weekend, March 20-21 as the Panthers travel to Charlotte to compete in the Charlotte 49er.
