Hannah Danielson enters her first season as the head strength and conditioning coach for the Pitt women's basketball team in 2022-23. She joins the Pitt staff after spending last season with the Mississippi State women's basketball program.
Most recently, Danielsen returned to her alma mater of Mississippi State in the summer of 2021 as the strength and conditioning coach for the women's basketball program and was in charge of the daily strength and conditioning regime.
Before returning to Starkville, Danielsen served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Health & Wellness and the Associate Head of Strength & Conditioning at Wichita State. She oversaw the execution and expansion of the nutrition and recovery programs for the Shockers and also facilitated the opportunity for student-athletes to work with Athlete Mental Health Coordinator, Dr. Brianna Ward. She also led the strength and conditioning efforts for women's basketball, softball and volleyball.
Danielsen spent time at Arizona State University before going to Wichita State. At ASU, she spent four years as a strength and conditioning coach primarily working with softball and women's lacrosse. In 2018 the Sun Devils made a run at the College World Series. Throughout her years in Tempe she also coached women's basketball, soccer and water polo.
Prior to Arizona State, Danielsen worked with volleyball and gymnastics at the University of Maryland. She began her coaching career at the University of Utah working with Olympic sports and football.
She began her collegiate career by playing volleyball at BYU-Hawaii where she helped the Seasiders win a conference championship and make an NCAA Tournament appearance. After two seasons she transferred to Mississippi State to complete her volleyball career. Her senior year she earned Capital One Player of the Week honors for leading the nation in hitting percentage.
Danielsen is a member of the National Strength & Conditioning Association and is certified in functional movement screening, USA Weightlifting, trigger point performance therapy and CPR/AED.
An Elk Point, South Dakota native, Danielsen graduated from Mississippi State with a degree in psychology in 2011. She was also a two-year member of the Bulldogs volleyball team after transferring in from BYU-Hawaii.
