Panthers End Homestand with Cleveland State

PITTSBURGH - The Pitt men's soccer team (5-4-3, 0-4-1 ACC) wraps up its five game homestand on Tuesday, Oct. 12, with non-conference foe Cleveland State (4-6-1, 1-3-1 Horizon). Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
This will be the 14th meeting between the teams, as Pitt leads the all-time series 6-5-3. The Vikings and Panthers first met in 1969 and last met in 2011 as Pitt defeated CSU, 1-0, at home.
LAST TIME OUT
The Panthers played in two double overtime games last week, including a scoreless draw with ACC-foe Virginia Tech on Friday. Senior goalkeeper Dan Lynd earned his seventh shutout of the season and 15th of his career.
HOME COOKING
Tuesday's game will be the fifth consecutive home game for the Panthers as they wrap up their five game home stretch. The 2015 schedule features 11 home games at Ambrose Urbanic Field and just six away matches. After completing eight at home thus far, the Panthers have walked away with four wins, two losses and have tied two. Upcoming home matchups include Harvard on Oct. 20 and Duke on Oct. 24, for Senior Night.
Senior captain and goalkeeper Dan Lynd continues to add to his prolific career at Pitt. Below is a snapshot of where Lynd's career numbers rank in program history:

Cleveland State comes to Pittsburgh after a 4-3 overtime win versus Horizon League foe Oakland. The Vikings are led by sophomore Jake Lagania with 12 points (5 goals, 2 assists), while junior Sergio Manesio has also been a key player this season as he has netted three goals from six shots on goal. Juniors Nick Ciraldo and Aleksandar Drobac are the main goalies for Cleveland State. Ciraldo has clocked 548 minutes and owns a 2-4 record with one shutout, while Drobac has played in five games and made 24 saves.

The Panthers hit the road for the first time since mid-September as they travel to reigning College Cup Champion and ACC foe Virginia for an 8 p.m. kickoff in Charlottesville, Va. Fans can view the game live on ESPN3.
