Panthers Ready for Robert Morris

PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt men's soccer team (3-2-1, 0-2-0 ACC) returns to Ambrose Urbanic Field on Sept. 22, to take on the Robert Morris Colonials (4-3-0) for a Tuesday night non-conference matchup. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
Tuesday's game marks the 32nd meeting between the Pittsburgh schools. Since 1982, Pitt and Robert Morris have played each other every year with the exception of 2005 and 2013. The Panthers lead the all-time series 18-11-2 and claimed the last meeting in 2014 at RMU, 2-0.
LAST TIME OUT
The Panthers suffered their second loss of the season on Saturday, Sept. 19, at Boston College. Pitt fell to the ACC foe, 2-0, after the Eagles struck in the 12th minute of the first half and again in the 66th minute of the second half. Although the Panthers lost, the statistics of the game were even across the board as both Pitt and Boston College took eight shots and had six corner kicks.
SEASONED LEADERS
Senior captain and goalkeeper Dan Lynd has played every minute in 2015 thus far. Lynd owns a 0.96 goals against average and .714 save percentage. Senior midfielder Patrick Dixon continues to lead the Panthers with four points and has appeared in five games.
FRESH START
As the Panthers continue their 2015 slate, multiple freshmen have consistently made strong impressions on the field. The group of newcomers is led by forward Tobias Marshall-Heyman who has played in five games, and is tied with Dixon with four points after netting one goal and recording two assists. Close behind is midfielder Curren Page, who has appeared in all six games scoring one goal and one assist. Defender Kyle Brathwaite and forward Matt Nozedar have also been top contributors for the Panthers.
SCOUTING ROBERT MORRIS
Before making the short trip from Moon Township to Oakland for the Tuesday night matchup, the Colonials recently fell to Lehigh, 3-2, in a double overtime thriller on Friday, Sept. 18.
Robert Morris is led by senior forward Neco Brett, a native of Kingston, Jamaica. Brett has appeared in all seven games for the Colonials and leads the team in points (16) after tallying seven goals and two assists. Freshman midfielder Lucas Puntillo has also been a top contributor to the RMU offense as he has recorded two goals and three assists. In goal, senior Brenden Alfery has been keeping the Colonials alive. Alfery has posted two shutouts this season and has made 35 saves.

Pitt returns to ACC action on Friday, Sept. 25, when the team travels to Syracuse, N.Y., to take on the Orange. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m
