- Junior center Kalista Walters is fourth in the country and leads the ACC with a season field goal percentage of .661 (78-of-118).
- Freshman guard Pika Rodriguez ranks 10th in the nation and holds the best 3-point field goal percentage in the ACC at 48.0 percent (24-of-50). She ranks 13th in the league with 2.0 threes made per game this season.
- The Panthers lead the nation in total blocked shots (107). Pitt leads the ACC in blocked shots per game (7.1), ranking fourth in the nation.
- Be Pitt's first ACC win of the season and snap a four-game losing streak in ACC regular season games. Pitt's last win against an ACC opponent was Feb. 16, 2017, versus Virginia Tech at Petersen Events Center.
- Improve the all-time series record to 6-2 in favor of the Panthers. Pitt's current win percentage over North Carolina (.714) is its highest over any ACC opponent
- Be the second straight over the Tar Heels in Chapel Hill. Pitt last defeated UNC by a score of 76-60 in Chapel Hill on Feb. 18, 2016.
- Be the fourth straight ACC regular season victory over North Carolina dating back to Jan. 8, 2015 (W, 84-59).
- A fourth-quarter surge from the Demon Deacons of Wake Forest dropped Pitt to 0-2 in ACC play Thursday at the Petersen Events Center.
- Yacine Diop posted her fourth double-double of the season, tying a career-high with 26 points and adding 10 boards.
- Neither team led by more than nine points, with the Demon Deacons ending the game on an 8-0 run to defeat the Panthers by nine.
- North Carolina (10-5, 0-2 ACC) brings a three-game losing skid into Sunday's contest, dropping decisions to Mercer and Florida State to conclude 2017 and opening up 2018 with a defeat at the hands of Boston College. The Tar Heel's last win came on Dec. 19, 2017 in a 79-63 victory over Grambling State, the 1,000th career victory for head coach Sylvia Hatchell.
- Redshirt junior guard Paris Kea paces the Tar Heel offense, ranking second in the ACC, averaging 20.3 points per game. The trio of Kea (20.3 ppg), Jaime Cherry (15.7 ppg) and Janelle Bailey (15.3 ppg) all rank near the top of the league's scoring output, with Cherry ranking 10th and Bailey 11th.
- Sophomore guard Taylor Koenen is the team's leading rebounder, grabbing 7.9 per game, followed closely by Bailey's 7.7. An unselfish Kea, is also leads the team in assists, with 94 on the season for an average of 6.3 per game.
- Pitt lead's the all-time series, 5-2 and has won three straight regular season contests over the Tar Heels dating back to the 2015 season. North Carolina won the last meeting between the two teams, a 72-60 decision in the opening round of the ACC Tournament in Conway, S.C.
- The Panthers continue their road trip, traveling to Virginia Tech on Thursday for a 7 p.m. tilt with the Hokies. The game can be seen live on ACC Network Extra via the WatchESPN app.
- Pitt returns to the Petersen Events Center Sunday, hosting Georgia Tech at 2 p.m.
