NEWTON, MA – The Pitt men's soccer team (2-2-2, 1-0-1 ACC) opened up road ACC play Friday night in Newton, MA against Boston College with a 0-0 draw. The Panthers tallied seven shots with two shots on goal.

HOW IT HAPPENED – FIRST HALF
- The first chance of the match came off the foot of Boston College's Xavier O'Neil in the 28th minute. Pitt's Cabral Carter was able to fend it off and make an unbelievable save to keep the match scoreless early
- The Panthers defended well off of corners as the Eagles accounted for five corner kicks in the first half but were unable to convert on any of them
- Pitt's first chance of the match came in the 39th minute as Michael Sullivan rocketed one to center of the net, however it was corralled by BC's Brennan Klein
- BC had an opportunity with only 10 seconds remaining in the first half as midfielder Alfie Hughes tried to throw one on net. He would be denied by defender Mateo Maillefaud who blocked it as time ran out
HOW IT HAPPENED – SECOND HALF
- In the 80th minute, Luka Kozomara struck one to the bottom left corner of the BC net but was unable to finish as the game stayed knotted at zero a piece
- The Pitt defense stood on its head again as they were able to defend four more BC corners in the second half, BC totaled nine corner kicks for the match
- Cabral Carter made one final save for the Panthers in the 89th minute as BC threw their second and final shot on goal with 86 seconds left in the match
MATCH STATS
- The Panthers edged out the Eagles out by a total of 7-6 in the shots department, while BC had nine corners compared to Pitt's two
- Cabral Carter earned his second straight clean sheet and the third of his career as he finished with two saves
- Michael Sullivan and Luka Kozomara each recorded two shots on the night while Jackson Gilman, Raphael Cilli and Luis Sahmkow all recorded one shot a piece
MATCH NOTES
- Pitt now owns a 6-12-3 all-time record against Boston College. Pitt has not lost to BC since 2016 while moving to 3-6-1 in games played in Boston.
- Carter's two saves on two shot attempts was his second consecutive clean sheet and the third of his career
- Cilli tied his season-high for shots with his shot in the 19th minute
