
Pitt Prepared for Post Season Action at ACC Championships

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt Panthers are set to begin post season competition tomorrow, November 1st at the 2024 ACC Cross Country Championships in Cary, N.C.
The men's championship 8k race kicks off at 9:30 a.m. at WakeMed Soccer Park. The women's 6k race will follow at 10:30 a.m. The awards ceremony will commence at approximately 11:15 a.m. Parking at WakeMed Soccer Park is free of charge for spectators.
The men travel ten student-athletes: Ethan Feinstein, Ethan Fingerhut, Quintin Gatons, Peyton Geehrer, Nolan McGinn, Thomas McMahon, Luke Miller, Sam Otis, Luke Simpson, and Finn Walsh. Feinstein, Fingerhut, McGinn and McMahon are set to make their ACC Championship debut.
At this meet a year ago, the men finished in 9th place with returners Geehrer and Gatons notching new personal bests en route to 50th and 57th place finishes, respectively. Additionally, the upperclassmen trio of Walsh, Miller, and Otis also had strong performances as they crossed the line in 84th, 85th and 88th places.
The women's team will race Ellen Baker, Olivia Bufalini, Gianna Cagliola, Sadie Carey-Tharp, Ella Cook, Christina Elliott, Camy Kiser, Sarah Hurst, Winnie Incorvaia and Sienna Miller. It will be the first time competing in the post season for Cook, Elliott, Hurst and Miller.
The women's team finished in 12th place last season as Carey-Tharp earned All-ACC honors for her 17th place finish and then 6k personal best.
