Panthers Continue Post Season at NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt men's and women's cross country teams will continue their post season pursuits at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships Friday afternoon. The women's 6k race will begin at 12 p.m., followed by the men's 10k race at 1 p.m. on Penn State's Blue-White Golf Courses.
On the women's side, Ellen Baker, Gianna Cagliola, Ella Cook, Sadie Carey-Tharp, Sarah Hurst, Winnie Incorvaia, Camy Kiser and Sienna Miller will make the trip to University Park. This season, the Panthers peaked at fourth in the USTFCCCA Mid-Atlantic Regional poll, which is tied for their best ranking in program history.
Ethan Feinstein, Quintin Gatons, Peyton Geehrer, Thomas McMahon, Luke Miller, Sam Otis, Luke Simpson and Finn Walsh will be ready to go for the men. Their highest ranking came in Week 2, in which they cracked the top five after a strong performance at the Lehigh Paul Short Run.
2023 REGIONAL RECAP
Sadie Carey-Tharp and Winnie Incorvaia will each be seeking a second All-Region nod this time around, whereas Camy Kiser and Olivia Bufalini will be seeking their first honor. Last season, Carey-Tharp and Incorvaia led the team to seventh place with their 17th and 22nd place personal bests. As freshmen, Kiser and Bufalini finished just outside the top 25 in 26th and 29th places.
On the men's side, Quintin Gatons and Luke Miller were the fourth and fifth Panthers to cross the line in their seventh-place team effort. Gatons ran a personal best 10k time of 30:51.1.
