
Pitt Women's Soccer Set for Matchup at Boston College

PITTSBURGH — The Pitt women's soccer team (4-4-2, 0-2-0 ACC) hits the road for its first conference away match of the season, taking on Boston College (4-1-3, 0-0-0 ACC) on Thursday, Sept. 18. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Newton Campus Soccer Field in Chestnut Hill.
THE OPENING KICK
•Pitt aims to maintain its perfect road record (2-0) after securing non-conference wins at Monmouth and Dayton.
•Thursday marks the first meeting between the Panthers and Eagles in two seasons. Pitt claimed a 2-0 victory in the most recent matchup.
•The Panthers are looking to rebound after an 0-2 start to ACC play, dropping back-to-back home contests to Cal and Stanford last week at Ambrose Urbanic Field.
•Thursday's contest marks Pitt's first road trip since Aug. 24, following a six-game homestand.
•Freshman Katie Ellermeyer leads the team with five goals this season, including a tally in Pitt's ACC opener against Cal. She currently ranks ninth in program history for goals scored by a freshman.
•Senior Margaret Wilde is having a breakout season, earning four starting nods in ten appearances for the Panthers. Wilde made her first start against Cincinnati, scoring the lone goal for Pitt. She sits second in points for the Panthers with six.
•Sage Stelzer recorded her second assist of the season with a pinpoint cross from the left corner in Pitt's ACC opener match against Cal. Stelzer is one of three Panthers to start all ten games this season, joined by Olivia Lee and Lola Abraham.
THE OPPOSITION
•Boston College opens its ACC campaign against Pitt after concluding non-conference play last week unbeaten at home.
•The Eagles are coming off a scoreless draw against St. John's on the road on Sept. 14. In Boston College's last home match, the Eagles blanked UMass 3-0.
•Sophie Reale leads the Eagles' attack with 11 points on the season, including five goals and one assist. Six different players have scored this year for Boston College.
