Miami Visits Women's Soccer Saturday Evening

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt women's soccer team welcomes Miami to Ambrose Urbanic Field Saturday evening. The Panthers secured their first point of ACC play last Sunday in a scoreless draw with the No. 4 Duke.

HONORING MOE ROSENSTEEL
- Kaitlyn "Moe" Rosensteel Saturday night. A native of North Huntingdon, Pa., soccer gave Moe purpose, lifelong friendships and her hard work opened a pathway to college. In her honor, her family has started a scholarship fund for a Western PA female soccer player who will be advancing into college to further her academic excellence while still playing the game she loved. They have also created an award in Moe's honor to celebrate a Western PA, high school student athlete whose play, leadership and passion for the game emulates that of the award's namesake, Moe.
- Pitt women's soccer players, Ellie Coffield, Sarah Schupansky, Lucia Wells, and Lola Abraham have all been a finalist or earned the Moe Rosensteel Most Outstanding Player Award.
LAST TIME OUT
- Freshman Elli Johnson made a career-high six saves to post her first shutout of ACC play. The rookie has started every match in net for the Panthers this season.
- Despite being outshot 18-7, the Panthers had multiple dangerous attacking opportunities in the final minutes of action. Katie Zailski sent a header just over the crossbar right before the final whistle sounded.
BITS FROM THE 'BURGH
- Sunday's draw was Pitt's first tie with a United Soccer Coaches Top 25 team since 2024. The Panthers posted a 1-1 draw with No. 6 Stanford on Sept. 29, 2024.
- With over 1,000 minutes logged during this season, Katie Zailski has jumped to fifth all-time in career minutes played. She has 6,147 career minutes played going into Saturday's contest. If she plays full time in six remaining regular season games, she will rise to third in program history.
- Pitt has taken the fourth most shots (59) in ACC games. Lola Abraham and Adi Bianchin are both in the top 15 in shots on goal per game during ACC play.
ABOUT MIAMI
- Miami enters Saturday's game with a 7-3-1 record and a 2-2 mark in conference play.
- The Hurricanes have wins over SMU and NC State and loses to Virginia and Clemson.
- Miami was picked 16th in the ACC Preseason Coaches Poll, three spots behind Pitt at 13.
- 17 different players have recorded a point for Miami this season. Zoie Fontenot has led the Miami attack with four goals on the year. Atlee Olofson has started all 11 matches in net, posting a .690 save percentage with a 1.22 GAA.
