2006-07: At the Big East Championships, Safritt was a member of the 800 freestyle relay team, helping them to an NCAA provisional and school record breaking time of 7:19.14...individually she finished sixth in the 200 free at the BEC and recorded a NCAA provisional mark in the 100 free...after nursing an injury, she returned in the Cincinnati meet and recorded a second-place finish in the 100 free...recorded second-place finishes as a member of the 200 medley (1:45.12) and 200 free (1:35.33) relay teams against Notre Dame...finished fifth in the 50 free at the Big Al Princeton Invitational...aided the 400 free and 200 medley relay teams to second and third places in the same meet...placed second in the 100 free and the 50 free against West Virginia.

2005-06: Safritt earned All-Big East honors for her contributions on the 400 and 800 freestyle relays...set a school record as a member of the 400 freestyle relay team and advanced to the NCAAs with the squad...also a member of the record-setting 800 freestyle relay team...claimed second in the 50 backstroke and finished third in the 200 freestyle on the team's best-times list ...tied a personal-low in the 50 freestyle and set a personal-best in the 100 freestyle.

HIGH SCHOOL: Safritt came to Pitt after a stellar senior season at Seneca Valley...earned four gold WPIAL medals...state champion in the 200 Medley Relay and a bronze medalist in the 50 and 100 free...she was also named the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Athlete of the Week, an All-American and All-State swimmer...member of the Seneca Valley Swim Club...qualified for the Junior Nationals in 2005...awarded the Bertha Murry Scholarship Award.

PERSONAL: Born July 29, 1987...daughter of Myron and Melissa Safritt...has one brother... a business & marketing major.
