2005-06: Safritt earned All-Big East honors for her contributions on the 400 and 800 freestyle relays...set a school record as a member of the 400 freestyle relay team and advanced to the NCAAs with the squad...also a member of the record-setting 800 freestyle relay team...claimed second in the 50 backstroke and finished third in the 200 freestyle on the team's best-times list ...tied a personal-low in the 50 freestyle and set a personal-best in the 100 freestyle.
HIGH SCHOOL: Safritt came to Pitt after a stellar senior season at Seneca Valley...earned four gold WPIAL medals...state champion in the 200 Medley Relay and a bronze medalist in the 50 and 100 free...she was also named the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Athlete of the Week, an All-American and All-State swimmer...member of the Seneca Valley Swim Club...qualified for the Junior Nationals in 2005...awarded the Bertha Murry Scholarship Award.
PERSONAL: Born July 29, 1987...daughter of Myron and Melissa Safritt...has one brother... a business & marketing major.
