April Robinson, who served as Pitt women's basketball's graduate student manager in 2016-17, has been promoted to director of video for the Panthers.
Robinson capped an illustrious four-year playing career at Duquesne by being named the 2016 Atlantic 10 Conference Co-Player of the Year, All-A10 first team and Female Scholar Athlete of the Year. The 5-foot-8 guard led the Dukes with 14.9 points and 6.4 assists per game and was named a national finalist for the Nancy Lieberman Award.
She was part of Duquesne’s winningest senior class in school history, amassing 95 victories, and started all 133 games of her career. Her capstone year was the Dukes’ winningest season ever, reaching the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history. She graduated in May 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in business management and cum laude honors.
The Springfield, Va., native started her college career under Suzie McConnell-Serio in 2012-13, prior to McConnell-Serio’s hiring at Pitt in April 2013. Robinson and averaged 8.3 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists as a freshman en route to an appearance in the 2013 WNIT second round. She was named to the A10 All-Rookie Team, and was a three-time A10 Rookie of the Week.
