
Four More Panthers Punch Tickets to NCAA Championships on Last Day of Zones

PISCATAWAY, NJ - Four new Panthers qualified for the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships on the final day of the Zone A Championships today.
A total of six Panther divers will now be representing Pitt at the NCAA Championships in Federal Way, WA in the coming weeks.
Pitt's Jackson Salisbury and Chase Marafioto finished 1-2 in the men's platform competition to both earn a post at NCAA's. Jackson's total score of 668.15 won him the event for the first time in his career. Salisbury is now a two-time NCAA Qualifier.
Sophomore Chase Marafioto earned the highest NCAA Zone finish of his career and qualified for NCAA's for the first time in his career. Marafioto scored a 646.70 on the men's platform.
Cameron Cash finished eighth in finals, scoring a 584.55 and officially qualifying for all three events. He is the first diver in Pitt history to qualify for all three events in each of his four years with the program. In 2024, Cash was an NCAA All-American on the 3-Meter and was an NCAA Honorable Mention All-American on platform.
On the women's side, Jess Vega and Mariana Osorio Mendoza each qualified on platform as well, both finishing in the top five.
Osorio Mendoza placed third, the highest of her career at Zones, and scored a 536.20 as she has now earned a spot at the NCAA Championships in each of her first two years at Pitt.
Senior Jess Vega finished with a total of 492.75 and placed fifth on the women's platform. She is now a three-time NCAA Championship Qualifier, doing so in each of the last three seasons.
