Pitt to Compete in the Penn Classic This Weekend

PITTSBURGH –The Pitt track and field team heads to Philadelphia for the Penn Classic this Friday and Saturday, Feb. 6-7.
- Friday competition starts at 11 a.m. with the women's weight throw (Margaret Bila, Alexa Brown, Madisyn Hawkins, Jaydon Isham) and the women's long jump (Taylor Forbes, Hailey Kravetz, Maddie Lewis).
- The meet will resume on Saturday at 12:15 p.m. when Cole Casadei and Nolan McGinn race in the men's 3K.

LAST TIME OUT
- Pitt captured six event titles, along with three second place podiums and three third place finishes at the Penn State National Open last weekend.
- Jaden Shelton cruised to a first place finish in the men's 60-meter hurdles with a time of 7.74.
- Eva Baldursdottir took first in the women's high jump, leaping 1.79-meters.
- Both men's and women's distance medley relay teams compiled first place performances with times of 9:58.37 and 11:58.52, respectively.
- Somiyah Braggs solidified first in the women's 200-meter invite, stopping the clock in 24.18.
- Quintin Gatons impressed with a personal best 3K time of 7:58.37, the second fastest time in program history.
UP NEXT
- For the weekend of Feb. 13-14, the team will split between three meets with the throws group traveling to Youngstown State, the distance squad flying to Boston University and the rest of the group heading to Clemson.
