Women's Soccer Welcomes Virginia Tech Thursday

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt women's soccer team continues its journey in Atlantic Coast Conference play Thursday against Virginia Tech. The Panthers host the Hokies for their first ACC home game of the year at Ambrose Urbanic Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

Adi Bianchin has scored five of the Panthers last eight goals of the season. Against Louisville, she created the chance that led to the Cardinals own goal in the second half.
Maci Tew recorded the first assist of her career at Louisville. The freshman played the full 90 in the first ACC matchup of her career.
Bianchin and Lola Abraham have both recorded two game-winners for the Panthers.

LAST TIME OUT

The Panthers are coming off a loss in the ACC opener at Louisville. After going into halftime with a 1-1 draw, the Cardinals surged in the second half to win, 4-2.
Mya Archibald netted her first of the season to tie the game at one in the first half.
The loss was the first road defeat of the season for the Panthers. Previously, Pitt was 3-0-1 away from home.

SCOUTING THE HOKIES

The Panthers and the Hokies haven't met since 2023 when Pitt came out with a 2-1 win. Pitt has won the last two meetings between the teams dating back to 2022.
Thursday's contest is the first ACC test for the Hokies. Virginia Tech finished with a 0-8-2 conference mark in 2025 and a 4-10-4 record overall.
The Hokies are off to a better start in 2026, matching their win total from 2025 with a 4-1-3 record over the first eight games with a ranked win over #22 Georgetown.
Virginia Tech recorded a 2-2 draw with Liberty a week before the Panthers downed the Flames 1-0.
