Pitt Women Record Five Top 10 Finishes in Moon Township

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – A select group of women's distance student-athletes made the short drive from Oakland to Moon Township to compete in the Benson Hodge Memorial Invitational, hosted by Robert Morris on Friday afternoon.
Four Panthers, Christina Elliott, Ava Pultorak, Mia Ingalls and Elizabeth Hunkele finished in the top ten of the women's 1500-meter race. Elliott paced the pack as the sophomore collected fifth place with a time of 4:55.00. Pultorak and Ingalls followed consecutively in sixth and seventh with respective paces of 4:55.30 and 4:56.40. Hunkele was ninth, crossing the line in 5:01.40.
Hunkele, a native of Pine Township, Pa., went on to compete in the 800-meter run as well, where she recorded a personal best time of 2:19.13 and notched the team's fifth top ten finish on the day, finishing in seventh place overall. Classmate Zoe Simpson stopped the clock in 2:24.73 to earn 13th.
