
Pitt Begins 2025 Season on Home Soil at Schenley Park Friday

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt cross country programs will be opening the 2025 season on their home turf, Friday morning. The Panther Opener will take place at Schenley Park in Oakland with the men racing at 8:45 a.m. and the women running at 9:15 a.m. The starting line is at the Schenley Park Oval Sportsplex near the Schenley Park Tennis Courts. Admission is free to the public. Street parking is available for spectators on Overlook Drive.
The Panthers face the Tartans of Carnegie Mellon, the Purple Raiders of Mount Union and the Carnegie Mellon Run Club. The Panther Opener at Schenley Park has been the season opening meet each of the previous three seasons, with both the men's and women's groups claiming first.
This will be the lone home meet of the season before Pitt travels to State College, Pa. for the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational on September 12.
